Truck is an 05 six speed with 23,000 miles. It is smoking significantly (blue smoke) on startup, but seems to clear up as it runs. It is running really rough and appearing to miss upon startup but this seems to settle down after it runs. Seemed to knock when first started after checking the fuel filter. Started doing this suddenly yesterday. Checked the fuel filter and it is OK (only 6,0000 miles since replaced). Have been using the Valvoline injector cleaner every second or third fillup.

Has a check engine light.

How do I pull the code since I do not have any of the plug in equipment?

Dealer is about 35 miles away and am wondering if it would be OK to drive it that far if there may be a stuck injector?

Thanks in advance for any hepl.

start with the key off, turn on and off 3x leaving the key on. The codes will appear in the odometer section. it will show done when it has shown all codes.

Thanks JApol. I did as you mentioned and got code P0341. I realize that the odds of me being able to fix this are almost none, but I am curious to know what the code means and to know whether or not I can drive it 35 miles to the dealer or should I have it hauled to the dealer. I restarted it again a few minutes ago and it smoked like mad for a minute or so and then seemed to stop or almost stop. Pulled the dipstick and did not see anything unusual, but who knows what really might be in the crankcase. Thanks again.

replace your camshaft pos sensor
There are more steps to trouble shooting but its probably the sensor

I've looked and cannot find anything that I think would be the camshaft position sensor. Where it it?

What about driving it to the dealer? Since it appears to be faulty, are we getting combustion when we shouldn't that might damage something?

Thanks again.
