This transmission is supposedly off a 99 1 ton?

I've got a friend who has a '94 Dodge dually that currently has a blown-up V10 sitting under the hood. He has access to a brand new '05 engine/auto trans/transfer case. Apparently there was a rail car full of new trucks that were damaged, and a local yard wound up with a few of them. They come with the computers, and his question is how to wire the new components to his current truck (gauges, ect. ). Any input would be appreciated. :D

If he put the diesel in there I wonder if he would of had problems with emissions? 'cause the particulates are higher on a diesel?... and the VIN would come back as a gas engine?

I don't know, just wondering if anyone does?

... another one bites the dust.

You dont want that new 05 engine in there. Get something good like a 12v or 24v. That new engine is WoRthLESS

Man EB

Why ya soooo brutal on the 05's?. I have to admit I miss that 2nd genner just rattling it's way to lift pump heaven

Mac

Mac-

I will agree with you on lift pump heaven! LOL The lift pump design on the 24 valves was pretty bad. I still like the 24 valve b/c of the simple design but it is not nearly as reliable and great as the old 12V. I feel the new 03 and newer engine in a step in the wrong direction. It might be quieter and have more factory HP but It will never be as reliable, less complex and correctly valved as a 12V. High costs to maintain it. WE can blame the EPA on the demise of the current engine in the Dodges. Just say no to diesels without a mechanical injection pump!

... some people might consider the band "Queen" to be a virus. I'd disagree... they made some good tunes.

Freddie Mercury did die of HIV, though... odd.

Hey the v-10 is a good engine. Not as great as the all mighty cummins. But a good engine. Better than a v-8. Yes its sad. I have a 04 4x4 dually. Yeah its got a Hemi. Yeah it sucks compared to the the 03 cummins i had, as soon as i can im going back diesel. Man im taking a road trip up to New York tomrrow, wish me luck in the snow.

I would have to disagree. The V10 in my '98 blew up at 67,000 miles. They said the oil pump locked up. There are a lot of design flaws in that engine, but you'll never hear that from DODGE. There's even a website that addresses the problems of the V10. I will tell you this though,i loved the power of the V10,and it ran like hel!..... TILL IT DIED!!! #@$%!
