05 fog lamps

i bought my truck w/o any fog lamps and really want them now. Is there a hook up for them under there for me and does wal mart sell any ones that will hook up to it that put out some decent light. I have a gift card there and i don't have the money to go buy really good ones from somewhere else. Does anybody know how much dodge sells the original ones for and are they bright at all. Any ideas or suggestions would help. Thanks.

Yes the hookups are already down there for you. However I dont think any companies offer a light that will mount down there and hook up to the factory connection perfectly. As Im sure Dodge did this for a reson... if you want a no hassle install, you have to buy their 170. 00 lamps that arent all that bright (but definatly a noticable difference). What you could do is just take the factory electrical connection off and splice in your own lights and come up with a handy mounting system. If you find any aftermarket lights that mount up identical, let me know as Im in the EXACT same boat as you.

Actually, there is at least one company making them, at least for mounting. Not sure about the connectors.



I can't remember the brand name, but it wasn't one I recognized. They sell them at the Irving, TX Ranch Hand outlet store. I asked about them and they are $140 for the pair.

MHorne... The factory fog lamps are made for Daimler by "Hella"... . go to www.autoanything.com ... they have decent selection of Hella fog/driving lights for decent prices... Hella's have been around a long time and have great reputation for making a quality light...

Try eBay (Dodge Ram) there are lots of after market dealers with factory setups including wiring harness and switches $100-$125. And I'm impressed as hell with the additional light. If yu get a factory wiring harness hook the trigger wire to the parking light wire, then you can use the fogs with the high beams.

does anybody know if dodge can program the computer to have the low beams high beams and if i get fog lights, fog lights to be programmed to stay on when i turn the brights on. Cause the brighter the better when you need brights.
