So I have two 05 trucks 1) super nice laramie sport 4wd auto that's fully loaded that was flooded and is haywire in the electronics. I sporadically will start or not but when it does it only runs for a few secs.
2) 2wd auto that was wrecked but runs like normal.
So I am using truck two as a donor so I plan to swap all modules that I would need to match with donor so it all jive properly, off the top of my head I am using
Ecm
Tipm
Instrument cluster
Steering column with all electronics

Is there anything else I need to swap? Truck 1 has electric shift t case with transfer case control module, is there any problems with donor modules working with that or other things the laramie may have that donor didn't?

You will likely have issues with VIN encoding in all the modules. Moving form another truck will require all the and then it way still not work correctly depending on the configuration of the ECU.

You will need the ABS module and controller and the cluster controller also as they are VIN locked. You don't have a TIPM just the FCA and fuse box. they will need moved as a pair. Theoretically, if the options were all the same and you got all the modules moved it should work. However, in practical application there is a good chance there will be something that does not match correctly or work the same.

Access to a DRBIII would a huge bonus in this case. Good luck with the project.

DRBIII is the programming tool that will allow you to change things in the ECU and modules.

I was told the cluster controller is separate from the cluster but not positive eon that as I changed to a used cluster and had no issues. There is another box behind the ashtray but cannot find the reference for it.

Behind the ashtray on the floor? Possibly the air bag sensor? It has two opposing yrllow cam lock connectors on the front if its the one I'm thinking of but surely if it's a crash sensor?? (Not sure) that wouldn't need to be swapped would it?

The TCM is a part of the ECM on the 05's so that is one piece that you don't have to worry about. How many place sin the ECU the VIN is stored is a question though.

Not sure on the one behind the dash, was told it was part of the data bus and needed addressed but have not tried the process.

Well, I'll let you guys know what happens when I hook batteries back up at this point I have changed
1)Fuse panel with front module
2)ecm
3)instrument cluster
4)abs pump/module
5)whole steering column w/ everything on it
so all that will still have vin matching from donor truck
Is there anything else I may be missing?
