Need to order a new 05 in New Jersey. Anyone know of dealers in the area that are good for price and service. Looking for dealer that will be good to work with.

Thanks

Steve

Where are you in nj? I ordered mine at Tallys in Pt. pleasant.

when I lived up north had good luck with dishman in flemington

Need to know where your at. I ordered my 04 from Johson Dodge in Bud Lake. $300 under invoice, minus rebates, with no hassle or haggling.

I got mine at Smith Dodge in Whitehouse. They are pretty good to deal with, its a very nice dealership too. I have used Linden Dodge and Flemington Dodge in the past and was not impressed with them at all.

Actually, Smith Dodge is on rt31 in Washington or Hampton, (unless there's another one) and when went there, I tried haggling for a half hour and couldn't get anywhere, went to Johnson Dodge and saved $800.

Same here. Pretty good to deal with. The wait was just over 13 weeks... . normal for this part of the country I hear. But I don't think I got the best price. They're a small dealership and don't move much volume. When I placed the ordered I thought I got a great deal with $300 above invoice but after reading what other people got I feel I got screwed. :(

My brother went there with TomeyGun quote in hand. They couldn't even come close and stuck to the $300 above invoice!!! He ended up buying from TomeyGun (3% under invoice)! :)

I'd stay away from Circle Dodge in Brick, NJ. I have two friends who swear they'd rather bring their truck to a Ford dealer to get it fixed then go back there! As for their sales department, they tried to force a truck they had in stock on me when I wanted to special order mine. And then refused to quote my truck even though I had a Dodge.com web printout. Said they'll get back to me. They lost my sale!

Tallys was not to bad on price,I got it at invoice. I thought the few hundred I could have saved going else where was not worth the risk if I needed service.

and your right about circle dodge they suck!

I used to bring my 98. 5 to them for service, not good. and then when I went to buy o3 they told me the best they would do was 500. 00 above invoice. see ya

Task125:

Sounds like you got a good deal! The manager of Tally's is a good friend of the family so I thought the $300 above was a special "your a friend also" price. I guess not if he sold to you at invoice... and you just walked in? Do you know anybody there or traded in a truck which may have offset the sell price? I'm just curious so I know never to go back there just because we know him. I get the feeling the old saying friends are friends but Business is BUSINESS may apply here!!!

when I first walked in they said if I order a new truck it is 300. 00 above, when I got prices in writing from other dealers a little below invoice went back to them and they said invoice was the best they can do. no trade

I think it was the end of the month, late in the day. and I dropped a few names. and gave them free drink chips from the sandpiper .

I still would have ordered from them even with the 300 deal. they beat circle and have been aces nice for service and parts.

Ah, we know that now. Take it from NJ; IF you order, be prepared to WAIT at least 50% longer (no joke) than what your dealer says, because of our location and port politics here.

I got mine from Remsen in Hazlet. Speak to Dave (salesman) or Sol (manager).

Both treated me like family.

I tried to talk to several other dealers that were closer to me, dont waste your time at the dealer in Manahawkin on rt 73, or the guy (who is right in my back yard) on rt 37 in Toms River.

How can you sell a truck if you dont want to talk money???

Eric

I purchased my truck from Buhler in Eatontown, got it for invoice. Placed the order on 3/19, truck arrived on 7/10.

I'll second the opinions on Circle Dodge. Can't talk about the service department, but, didn't have a lot of luck with the salesmen.

Was going to order from Tally's. Truck was the same price, however, when I placed the order in March, I was offered $1500 more on a trade by Buhler (ended up selling privately anyway, so, it really didn't matter).

I had no luck finding a good deal or the right truck in S. Jersey- wound up going to Reedmans in P. A. to purchase. Tried Kindle in Stone Harbor for the Trans line & ECM grommet recall- they botched it. Heard about Circle from many people- you want to avoid them & Kindle like the plague. Went to Manahawkin Dodge on a friends tip- their service dept is great. Went back again for the alt bracket bulletin-again all went well. I will buy from them in the future ( wife wants a Durango ) Good Luck-

Manahawkin....

I never had any service done by them.

I know their parts guy is on the ball. Sharp fella.

I just didnt like the saleswoman trying to sell me a truck w/o talking about money. ??

My last name may sound like I have bucks... . BUT I DONT!!!

Granted this was last year, but I placed an order for my truck on 2/17, it was built on 2/21, and took delivery on 3/17. This was from Warnock Dodge in East Hanover. Great sales manager - really easy to work with.

I bought mine at Werner Dodge in Middletown, $100 over invoice. No surprises and when I picked it up it had real plates on it, no temp tags, just a little something they do. Ask for Tom Ryan

I'll second Warnock in East Hanover. My boss just bought a new 600 and when I went with him to pick it up, I got to talking with Steve ( I believe he's the sales manager) I asked how close to invoice he would sell. With out hesitation, he said 200 under. Well that got me excited. I found a truck on the lot spec'd the way I wanted, then we talked again. msrp was 42430 the invoice he showed me was 37896 He offered me the truck for 37000 even. I thought it was a good deal, but after going home and talking to the wife, I realized I need to sell one of the two Dodges I already own before buying a new one. Oh well... . next time. Todd:)

South Jersey Dealers

I called several places before deciding on the two dealers to pit against each other: Lilliston Dodge in Millville and Vann Dodge in Vineland. Both were very close on price and trade, but I decided on Lilliston. When we went to make the deal, though, the sales manager pulled the old "owner won't go for the deal" trick and raised the price $1500!!!!!! I went back to Vann and explained the situation. He LOWERED the original price $300 to keep me happy. Needless to say, my '04 has a Vann sticker on it. Avoid Lilliston in Millville at all costs.

On service, when I went in to get my plates I had a few minor issues I told the service manger about. His response: "Do you have half an hour for me?" When I told him I did, he put a mechanic on it right away and it was back to me fixed in 28 minutes. THAT's service.
