My buddy from Texas has an 05 Laramie and is getting pretty exasperated. He has had in in the dealer 4 or 5 times for the radio conking out. The display works, but no sound comes out of the speakers. It is the 6 CD Infinity system.
The first time they told him it was the plug recepticle so they replaced the radio. Worked for a few days and quit again. He found the passenger side vanity light did not work so he pulled the visor and found the mounting screws were into the wiring. His door locks had been working goofy too. The dealer said aha, the bad wiring had knocked out some control module behind the dash. They replaced that and still no radio, so they replaced the amp and radio worked: for about a week.
He took it back and they said the amp had gone bad and the one they put in may not have been the right one so they replaced it again. He took off on a three week trip, radio worked for three days and it is out again. He is camped on the north side of Phoenix right now and I told him to take it to a dealer there. He has his truck full of personal stuff and is reluctant to unload it all but I think another dealer might have a better shot at fixing it. Any ideas?
