05 transmission temp light on

stuck in traffic (stopped)for an hour truck off most of the time started it up went to go and trans temp light came on. i then set high idle(1200) in neutral and light went off. any one seeing this type of problem? out side temp 27F

I was stuck in traffic for two hours and no light,I would say something is wrong. My ran the whole two hours

Wonder if shutting engine off a lot while sitting still would let heat build up since there would be no flow through the trans cooler??? Just a thought.

I would be worried, my 03 manual says that light goes on at 275 deg. ouch!
