Do the 05's need to monitor fuel pressuer like the 2nd gens? They got rid of the engine mounted LP and the pump is in the tank, correct? Getting ready to set up my sons 05 and was wondering.

you don't really NEED to monitor it like you do the vp equiped trucks if you have no fuel pressure then the truck just won't start it won't damage the cp3 like the vp's, however if you are going to BOMB the truck then a fp gauge would probably be a good idea. as far as the tank mounted pump i know they have them now im not sure when they went to them

yes the pump is in the tanks on the 05 and up trucks. Fuel pressure is only around 7 psi from the factory. It doesn't appear to be as critical to watch the pressures on the new common rails as the VP-44's were. It certainly doesn't hurt to watch it though. :D
