06 2500 CTD on the way!!!!!!

Well, hopefully, yes. My girlfriend is selling her car to her mom around Christmas. Mack is getting tired of it, and her mom wants a used sedan (its an 01 Audi A4). So her mom may purchase it and Mack will pay off the loan and use the difference for a down payment for a 2500 4x4 CTD shortbed Laramie.



Actually her decision is between an 06 Audi A3 3. 2/DSG Quattro and a truck. Yesterday we went to a dealer over lunch and test drove a 6-speed Megacab. After work we went to two other dealers and test drove a 6-speed quad cab and a 6-speed Megacab at the first and an auto Megacab at the second. So we drove 4 trucks and she (and I) are torn. This is her decision though I play a part



We loved the way they all drove. Even the auto was a pleasure and we can get the engine brake on it. So we need to decide between a Megacab for extra space and her three girls, the quad cab shorty for shorter overall length, the 6-speed or auto, sunroof or DVD player or both (both on the Megacab, only one or the other on the quad), auto rear slider or manual slider, and plain Laramie or Big Horn Edition.



She said she would let me straight pipe it and MAYBE take out the silencer ring.

Yeah they have employee pricing right now til the end of the month. Too bad her mom isn't ready to seal the deal today! Hopefully some other good incentives come along at Christmas time, maybe even employee pricing again. I will cross my fingers.

No, I am going to Durango to visit Mack's sister. I missed the Mile High Nationals and can't go to this weekend either. I know one thing, I won't be missing the Jet Cars in August!

I don't know how old the girls are but they will be kicking mommy's behind everytime they have to get into the quad cab versus the megacab with a DVD & sirius radio to watch/listen to. My 6'5" son-in-law can stretch out in the back of our truck. The main drawback is the cost and the extra length of the megacab. We just have to park ours a little further out from the malls, etc.

Yeah, the Megacab is great. I think she and I are both leaning that way now. Since it will be a while before she sells her car, the two trucks outfitted the way we want them may be sold but the early 07s with the 5. 9 should be coming in late this year.



Does anyone know what the Megacab shorty 2500 CTD 4x4 weighs? I tried telling her the truck has stock what my Blue Chipped 99 had, but my reg cab weighed a bit less.

You know I haven't driven the auto yet. I rode shotgun for that trip and didn't switch drivers. She likes the auto but she told me she prefers the "smoke when I want" transmission. I think she is set on the 6-speed but time will tell. She has a 5-speed in the A4 and can shift that and the test-drive-trucks better than I can!
