06 5.9 cummins install NOT GOING IN

Spent the last 5 hours trying to drop a new 5.9 cummins engine in. This damn thing will not go in. 1st I tried with the oil pan on and that was a epic fail. Dropped oil pan and goes in a little further but I can't get the motor mounts to line up. Tried dropping it in at an angle, nope.
Got very pissed off and gave up after I busted the alternator sensor plug.

How in the hell are you supposed to drop this thing in.

Nope, stock 5.9 cummins nothing special. It's an 06 so it's got the front cross bar that doesn't unbolt, seriously crazy design. I've read people cut it to do install and removal but I'm not going down that route.
I'll post some pics tomorrow when I go at it again for round 2.

Be careful opening the doors if you have to They may rub on the fenders if you have them spread.

Removing that front cross bar is very much needed, that should solve your issues.

FYI mopar parts used to sell a repair package that included a gusset to weld in place after you cut the cross bar at an angle. Not many did it that way so not sure if it is still available. Most of the technicians spread the fenders. Just be very careful not to go any further than necessary.

I finally got the engine in, after cutting out the front cross bar. However, I'm an idiot and forgot to put the #6 push rods in. There isn't enough clearance to put them in so I have to pull it back out, not cool.

There should be plugs on the bottom of the cowl that allow for them to come out in the truck.

I just watched a video. Whew.. I was really upset and dumbfounded thinking they couldn't get replaced with the engine in .... Awesome
