06 auto shifts from 1st to 2nd at 2500 and will not compression brake when down shifting maually. Truck is well maintained by me since new, bands adjusted and fluids changed as recomended (amsoil atf). have tried the following one at a time: New TTVA, pressure sollenoid, solenoid pressure sensor, varified good grounds to ttva but no power... . brought it to dodge they said I need a new computer. Bought a computer from ecm exchange and what do ya know, no change what so ever. Drove for 500 mi thining the computer may need to comunicate with something, nope. Checked the wiring best I could and all apears fine. Where do I go now!!! No one seems to be able to help. Not that it matters but I've been running stock wheels for the last 6 months or so and drive with the edge on 2 or 3 never higher (really).

One more thing, after I first put the new computer in I drove about 250mi and the truck suddenly started shifting regularly. Thinking it must not be the $900 worth of new computer at this point I put the old computer back in and again it did not shift properly so I switched back to the new computer and she has not shifted properly for 500+ mi.

I had an issue with my old 05 it wouldnt shift out of 2nd, would just redline. Dealer had it a week (under warranty), couldnt tell me what it was. Ended up bein a loose plug on the transmission under the pass. side up about 11oclock. Have ya checked all plugs?

good luck

Maxum Performance got it! Thanks Buddy. I did check all plugs to best of my ability but no change. Also undid the battery cables. Brought it to one of the high tech custom guys in town "Maxum Performance" in Bristol RI, Buddy was a teacher for the dodge cummins tech classes as well as many others. Took even him a bit but ended up being a bad pin in the connecter on the bellhousing, the pin sort of U'ed over and was probably that way from day one and finally wore til there was no contact. You would not be able to see this tiny thing just looking at it, he had to take it apart. He systematically went through the wire harness, had nothing to do with power and grounds to the ECM or the TTVA. The dodge dealer out here had it for a few days and just told me to buy a new ECM (which by the tech manual would be correct but in reality was not). Maxum performance was great but I wasted alot a clams on parts and a rental before going to him. Hope this helps others out. If you are anywhere close to this guy I would not go anywhere else, oh, they are pleasant to deal with to.

By the way tpOd, how you like that 010, Im jealous!

Glad to hear that fixed it. I get a lot of bad wiring harnesses in my line of work, fixin water heaters.

The '10 is sweet... Not really liking the mileage tho, but at least I write the diesel off on the company (90% work 10% play). Interior is way nicer than my 05, and the exh brake is a real step up from the old "idle down the hill" routine. Cant wait to see how long my service brakes last. Front shocks are mooshy at speed though, they may get changed... hmm
