rv washer dryer 220 v ?

TrailAir or 5th Airborne air pin box???

Brand new 06 CTD SRW 4WD LB AT, about 1K miles on the ticker. I really read up on the break-in procedure, didn't haul squat until after about 500 miles, and during those miles I was diligent about break-in procedures. Then @ about 700 miles took it easy haulin the camper for the first time on a short trip. Camper is a 2007 Eagle Cap 950, prolly 3300 lb dry. Heavy, I know-- weight police stand down please :p .

I am totally amazed with this motor and even more so with the auto transmission. The tow/haul mode is freakin' amazing. I mean, I can lumber up a 6% grade in OD right at the peak torque value, like 1600 rpms, at like 55 or 60 with ease. Hell, I can even accelerate. I took it easy though. Shift points and even the power seem waaaay different. Happy 'Camper'!

Glad you like it. Treat it like a truck! I'll never ever baby an engine again after I saw what the difference in working one hard from the get-go. I think the first 500 miles without towing to lap in the gears is fine, after that, reasonably hammer it. :)

The Cummins medium duty B series engine is used in many fire trucks and commercial applications as well as the Dodge pickup. How many of these would you think are babied? The fire trucks in particular are started and immediately driven hard without benefit of warmup.

I was concerned when I bought my 06 since I towed my 15K trailer the next day, but the dealer brought up the good point that these engines are used in big pushers and motorhomes that pull the weight out of the box. 500 miles is probably just to be sure they didn't leave a critical part out, or put it in wrong.

Like what BGlidewell said, I think they are taking into consideration the break-in of the gears in the trans. & rearend, also.

ehh. . i have been in a lot of fire houses, and all the new trucks, gas or not have 500+ miles on the BEFORE they are delivered... on top of that in the cold areas they are pluged in to help with that cold start problem...

every police agency and fire house i have known breaks them in to 500 or a grand on the ODO. no need for a broken down ride in the middle of a rescue/pursuit... .

back on topic, i was nice to my truck for about 450 miles, then i beat the everlivinghell out of it and have for the past 52,000 miles. runs very strong and tows GREAT. mileage is better than some and worse than a very few...

Maybe I'm crazy but, my rig runs BETTER for some time after it has to "Earn its money". These motors just LOVE to pull and be worked, the more the better. Keep'em in the powerband and let it rock!
