'06 CTD questions

So, an '06, maybe '07 is possibly on the way. G/f wants a 2500 Megacab. I may want it in a 3500. We are 80% sure on the 6-speed but the auto is a possibility. Someone mentioned on another post about getting 4. 10s with the auto, any reason to/not to? The 6-speed would be 3. 73. Also, I know the Jacobs exhaust brake is available now on the auto, but is it better on one transmission or the other? We won't be towing anything heavy enough to need it, but it would be fun to have



We want 4x4, ESOF, power rear slider, sunroof, DVD. What about the Big Horn? What's the main difference between that and the Laramie?



By the way, are the '06 Megacabs 3500s in SRW only? Weren't the funky dual fenders supposed to be coming out? I thought I saw pics, or was that on the '07s?



Oh, and it will be Inferno Red or the dark blue (forget the name).

You can get duallies on the 3500. I have the auto with the Jake and love it. I also have the 3. 5 gears. If you're not going to pull or haul enough to need the Jake, I would stay with the 3. 5's unless you're going to put on some bigger tires. I got the auto because the the manual, even with 3. 5's, runs about 200 or more rpm faster at freeway speeds. Just my choices. As for the options you mentioned and the colors, it may be difficult to get an 06 set up that way as the ordering cycle for 06's is over. You should be able to get an 07 pretty soon with the 5. 9 engine still. The bigger one doesn't have to come out til Jan 1 of 07. Have fun looking. I love mine so far.

Cool, sounds good! Actually, the dealer has two like we want, a Patriot Blue and an Inferno Red but no telling how long they will stay, especially at employee pricing. The problem is selling her car. Her mom wants to buy it (for more than she owes) but at Christmas time, not now. So, if that happens, we will wait for an '07 or see if there are any '06s left.
