Dimmer Switch

I finished installing my gauges about a month ago. On the O5 I had it was a snap. On the 06 I pulled the cup holder out first. Then the center section with the radio. Then you can get to the dimmer switch by pulling out the panel over the steering column. Whew. I will post pictures later. There were some sneaky screws to pull out the center section. I think it was just two screws. You will have to feel around with your hands on the bottom part of the center section. It really was not a big deal.

On my 06' gauge install I removed the kick panel. This gave me enough room to reach up and disconnect the wiring harness. I used the instructions from the rear of TDR issue 50(?).

This is way overkill for getting to the light switch. All you do is remove the side panel, it just pulls off. Then pull the top of the lower kick panel, it will just fold down, then remove the two screws like in the pics, then just pull it towards you. The top will come out a little but thats okay, just make sure to puts the slots back in straight when going back together. I believe the wire you want is the one next to the far left, it should be orange with a black stripe. Just put a t-tqap on it and you'll be all set-up.

Also, if you need 12v to the key, most 06 trucks have the plug that goes into the pedal movement switch, (whether or not the truck came with it) and it is the light grey with pink tracer I think, need to use a test light to make sure. This is a handy 12v to the key.

Was It a few more screws? Yep. But trying to get the hot soldering iron under the dash with out burning your self was worth the 5 extra minutes of dismantling. But is sound like you all ready know it all.
