This evening my check engind light came on just after I started it. I held the trip button and turned on the key. I don't know if thats the correct wat to check codes or not. I tryed the key cycle trick 3,4,5,6 times nothing came up. The codes shown off the trip button are,c 447, s 121, . 282. Just wondering the importance of getting in to the dealer. Also if I leave the key on for 20sec or so the engine light flashes 10longs and 1short?

TIA

Terry

I have tried the three key cycle several times and cannot figure it out yet but like Terry says in his post I also can hold down on the mileage reset and I get several codes. But my check engine light has not come on.

I have no idea what codes those are that come up with the trip held in but I have been able to do the 3X ignition ON sequence. You have to do it fairly quickly between cycles to get it to work.

My '06 throws the P0514 code (Battery Temperature Sensor Performance/Rationality) ALL THE TIME. From reading TDR here though (Do a search on the 3rd gen forums for "P0514") it appears that it a VERY COMMON problem that D/C needs to come up with a TSB/Recall on.

I got the codes pulled this AM. You have to move the key from off to run 3 times rapidly, as I read in one post. I called Reno Dodge and they said to bring it buy and the would clear it. I did and they did. They were very polite and helpful, I was really surprised. The last time I was there, 3 years ago, they were not to polite and very hard to deal with. I am glad to say things have changed for the better there. I sure hope they fix this sensor problem. Thanks for the help. T
