06 Injector noise maybe?

My 06 is makein some weird noises, i can hear kinda like a crackeling noise right before boost comes in, dose it almost in every gear (6sp). I alway let it get up to good temps, and it still dose it, i but when turbo is spoolin it sounds nice and smooth! Could this be a injector issue? And i can also hear a little knockin noise(over the norm) when at idle and it some times idles alittle ruff u can feel it alittle in the cab. Truck is bone stock. Any thoughts?

Run a quart of Lucas Fuel Treatment though it. Just pour it in tank and then fuel it up and run it for a hundred miles or so.

I have an 2006 with 12000 miles G56. Having the same problem. (not happy)

Drain the fuel filter housing, remove the fuel filter housing cap, add 1 bottle of SeaFoam into the fuel filter canister, replace cap, bump starter to prime housing, then drive the crap out of it.

sounds like your injectors are on there way out, one morning your truck wont start then you get to fight with the DC over warranty,I hope you don't have the same trouble I am. good luck

My Grandson's 06' was doing a simular thing, and it was one bad injector, covered by warranty. Truck has 14,000 miles, and even had the "Edge" Juice/Attitude installed! The dealer he goes to has no problem with that!

I'm not 100% sure you have a problem if it's the sound I'm thinking of. I have a few friends with 06's and and mine's an 04. 5 - they all make the same sound you're speaking of at light/partial throttle - Almost like a really light pinging sound.

Well im goin to New York on a Salmon Fishing trip next week and when i get back im gonna take it to the dealer and see what they say! What is the sea foam talked about above this might be somethin to do before i leave on my trip? It just dosent sound like the truck is runnin smooth till it starts to build boost!

I second Greg's recommendation. I had similiar issues with my 04. 5. It also had rough idle on cold start. I picked up a can of sea foam at Advnace Auto and dumped it into the filter canister, started it and idled for 1 minute, shut it down for 10 minutes then started it back up and drove it like I stole it. It idled much smoother and seemed to accelerate a little smoother too. Sea foam cleared up the rough idle and knock.
