I have the Jake with the shifter switch. TRuck sat for about 8 days while I was out of town. The brake still works but the red-light on top of the switch does not. It took it a time or two to get the brake to engage after the week sitting. Anybody heard of this? I kind of miss the red light. Any ideas?? to get back to normal.

i pulled three jacobs off of 06's and installed bd's i wanted to reuse as much wiring as i could so i opened one of the switches up to see how it was wired i should have written it down for future reference but i did not but from memory there is three wires to the switch the red goes to the fuse block the black to ground and the white to ecm the dropping resistor, led and contact points are on the pc board the button slides two sets of contact's across the board when the brake is applied the white wire is shorted to ground through the black wire the light is powered from the red wire through the contacts resistor and led to ground through the black wire the switch is not that hard to open if you have to. first check to see if you have 12v to the red wire with the key on if it is there open the switch and with the key and brake on see if you have about two volts drop across the led. as soon as the vacuum pump quits working change to a bd and scrap all of the jacobs

I just today repaired the little wiring harness that goes from the switch down under the boot. The wires had broken inside their jackets under the repeated flexing of shifting.
