Anyone now where I can get a whole new Laramie front bumper? I have looked everywhere and can't come up with much. Scared to go to the dealer cause they will want my first born for it. Just thought I would ask. I am about ready to just get one of those new fangled iron fancy ones if I can't replace this one.

Aftermarket truck parts retailers that sell and install big ugly steel aftermarket bumpers in areas with lots of ranchers, farmers, and hunters and in areas with heavy deer populations remove them when they install the aftermarket "cow catcher" bumpers.

Check with one in your area.

I've got the front bumper off of my wife's 04 that we took off new to put a steel one on. I'll let it go for a reasonable price but shipping from Indiana would probably be expensive. let me know if you have any interest. Chris

Chris, wouldn't that be a different body style? Mine is the color matched Mineral Gray with the cheesy metal piece in the middle.

I think it would work but would need to be painted as it is Atlantic blue. I can send you a picture if you're interested.

Try shops that sell full bumper replacement bumps. When I put my Ranchhand bumper on they asked me what I wanted to do with the factory one I said you can have it. Wish now I had asked for some trade-in on it because it was perfert only 2 months old.

I'm about to remove my stock bumper from my 2006 Laramie. It's not Mineral gray though... . It's Silver. I'm in California so shipping would be fairly inexpensive to Washington state... . I ship freight items around the country every month. I'd sell it complete with fog lamps and the bulbzilla kit I installed on the fog lamps. Let me know via PM. I don't know how quick you need it but I'm planning on removing it in the next 2 weeks.

ARB's national distributor is in Wa state. Their bumpers don't weigh a ton, look good and actually stop major damage to your frontend in the event of a collision. Our stockers look good, but aren't very protective.

I went through the same thing you're dealing with after "bumping" into a doe two years ago during the last real winter we had in Spokane. I bet I wasn't doing more than 20-25 mph, on ice, when she ran right across my path. She hit pretty flush with the factory bumper and cracked the plastic cover on the passenger side with her rear end and cracked the surround on the grill with her head.

The doe slid about 35' on her side on the black ice, jumped up and bounded off - I'm sure she had a heck of a headache, but the truck looked worse. This really set me to thinking about that row of radiators, heat exchangers, etc. right behind the grill and how vulnerable they are to catastrophic damage from a relatively minor collision with another vehicle or critter.

While I prefer the look of the factory front end the thought of drilling another deer or elk at a higher speed convinced me to look to the aftermarket strictly for practical reasons. Right now the deer are running thick and each trip from Nine Mile into town I see at least one or two fresh kills alongside the road. Luckily for me just three days ago I was about 400 yards behind a guy in a Chevy pickup that nailed a deer on Hwy 291, a few seconds later it would've been me.

I ended up finding a used ARB for $500 in great shape including the fog lights (for whatever they're worth anyway). I liked a couple of the aluminum replacements but the cost was beyond me, and most of the well built steel units just weigh too much for the weak front end. ARB was a compromise and so far I'm happy with it.

Sounds like you're in the same dilemma I had... whatever you decide good luck, just consider though what you might be thinking if you collide with a good sized varmint and lose the use of your truck for a couple weeks, plus the insurance claim and their typical retaliatory response at renewal time.

Something about buy once, cry once comes to mind too!

Thanks all and I will pm the ones that are taking the stockers off. Its amazing to me that we have these beasty trucks that will haul a home practically but the business end of em are protected by a thin metal shroud wrapped in plastic.
