Is anyone out there with a 2006 Megacab that has used a muffler delete pipe and left the CAT and resonator in place? How loud is it? Any Drone? Performance or mileage changes? Stock tip or after market? I am thinking this might be worth trying, but wanted to see if anyone had tried it.

I have an 05 and have done this. The drone is not bad at all unless you really don't like your truck to make noise. I almost live in mine for work and was worried about the same thing. I can set the cruise on 78 and the only time there is drone is climbing hills and it still is not that bad at all. If you are running flats on cruise, it is just as quiet as having a muff. But if you are around town or city and it is resunating off of parked cars or buildings, it sounds awesome. The one thing I don't like though is that if you really crack down on it and the RPMs get high it almost sounds like a fart canned V6 gasser. From what I found out it is due to the kitty. But I will say that when I took mine in for service they made sure they put " NO MUFFLER ON VEHICLE", on the paperwork. So far no change in warranty but you know they just look for a reason. Hope this helps.
