I have a 2006 with 176,000 miles on it that I just purchased this summer.
With this most recent cool snap I have an occasional hard start. Here is my situation. One day the temp will be 45 degrees and the truck will have a hard start. The next day the temp will be 40 degrees and the truck will kick off like a champ. I have black smoke and the engine runs GREAT once it has started.
This summer I had an Air Dog installed and had to have a new turbo put in the truck. I also have an Edge with Attitude programmer.
I know that the most obvious answer is injectors, but I do not understand why it is not always a hard start and why the temp can be cooler and not have it effect it when it does at other times.
Could it be the heater working intermittently and not always heating well before start? I have not had the chance to plug the truck in to see if it changes things.
Any help would be REALLY appreciated!!
