The wifes 06 quit on her last night, I went to get her and after cranking it for a minute it started, on the trip home 3/4's of a mile it quit 4 more times. I've got a code P0088 and that is it. The truck is bone stock.

Anyone got any ideas? I pulled the plugs off the CP-3 and the rail pressure transducer and put them back on just to see if they were loose. I can't seem to hear the in tank lift pump run, would that make a difference?

I called the dealer today, they were waiting for a new lift pump, they say it's all fixed and the lift pump was the problem, I'll see how it goes tomorrow when I pick it up. Seems wierd but hey what do we know.

Put 50-75 miles on the truck this weekend, seems everything is working good now. I would love to put a Glacier kit on this truck but the dealers around here are real touchy and I am trying to keep the warranty on this truck.

Im thinking I should look into the walbro or fass. I think they are both an aftermarket fuel pump with quality filter thats mounts on frame. Could I leave the stock pump in place and draw thru it?

And Would the cold temps cause gelling more so on the frame?

Run winter diesel and don't worry about gelling. I run a FASS in the great white north with no fuel heater and everthing is peachy. You have to pull your stock pump to put a fass or gdp on. The idea of better filtration with a fass or gdp is probably a good one. The 60,000 mile filter change interval is nice too. I guy would help pay for the upgrade in the long run with less $ spent on filters and less labour. I forgot, I work for nothing.

you can leave the intank pump in place if you want, the gdp or FASS will pull fuel through it(even if its off) i dont have a gdp kit, but i use the same pump as them($150 for pump, $100 for bypass regulator, $20 for 2micron filter head) my fuel runs through the stock filter/heater assembly before the 2mic. filter

i dont trust so called "winter" fuel, ive had it gel more than once

I was told by the dealer that sold me the pump that it needed to be removed. The only problem I've had with gelling is running summer fuel in the winter. The heater didn't help. We have our own bulk tanks so we know what fuel we're getting.

I think refineries have alot to do with the quality of fuel, I've noticed my pressure drops right off on my 01 with the cold weather, it isn't quite gelling but it definantely is getting thicker. I think the Canadians and the western US have a better source of fuel.
