Im doing a front axle ujoint and cant seem to get the rotor off.

I hate to pound too much on the rotor because all the pounding stress goes into the bearing unit and ball joints and will trash them i assume.

I soaked the area good and may try punching out the 8 wheel studs in the am.

Any other tips to get me thru this.

Thanks

Do a search on here. There was tons of info swapped on an easy way to do this. If you don't find it post again and one of us will give the info again.

Mine were frozen on both left and right. Removed as an assembly with the bearing and then set the rotor/hub unit on 2 hardwood blocks placed out enough under the rotor face to clear the bearing when it let go. Took a 6 foot bar that I own and struck the center vertically being careful to avoid the splines, after 3 or 4 good belts the hub dropped out of the rotor. I had tried a couple other methods first which did no good at all but dropping the bar onto it did the trick and did not harm a thing. The studs don't hold it in place. it is just seized between the rotor center and the bearing face.

Be sure and Never-Seez the crap out of the rotor centers when you put it back together.

You dunk yours into the same winter mix that I do so turn it all silver under there... . :-laf:-laf
