I just dreded the phone call from a buddy of mine who has been a chevy guy

but I talked him into a 2500 CTD, he had a transmission leak,so he took it back to the dealer and of course they said they could not find a leak. Now you could see fluid on the the transmission even a blind person could find it.

I drive a 2nd gen so I was not much help. Is there any transmission problems that are going on? He only has about 5k miles. It is a automatic.

That trans is generally leak free. Don't want to sound rash, but if a blind man can see the leak, where is it coming from? Bell housing, pan, tail shaft? If he wipes it clean, where does it start to drip from?

6Naline01,

It might appear to be a trans leak like mine did but it turned out to be the little coolant hose was loose right behind the turbo and was dripping down from the front of the transmission. It was an easy fix, just tightened the two clamps which were loose. Hope this helps.
