06' transmission Issue

Almost every time I put the truck in park, the (P) doesn't highlight unless I goto (R) or (N) then try again, and if the door is opened before it's in (PARK), the truck goes NUTS!!! - Lights Flash all over the dash... Scared the crap out of me the first time... Didn't know what the hell I did. It was better when the Wife did it though, thought she was going to DIE!!



But seriously, for it to not go into park when you put it there, is just annoying. Anyone else experience this?

On the new trucks... ... the neutral switch was updated. The switch which is on the drivers side of the trans right behind the gear selection linkage is what is giving you the headache. The new switch not only functions as the neutral switch but it also acts as the gear indicator for the new trucks. Go to the dealer... tell them the problem and have them correct it or replace the switch for you.

I have noticed the same with my truck. Please let me know what the dealer says?



Also have you noticed after you put it in park, turn the power off pull keys out and open the door, do you hear a beep
