I just priced (on Dodge website) a 2006 with a Mega-Cab Dually short-box and otherwise same options to my 2005 QC Dually. No I would not trade, even for the same money. Here's the summary comparison and "my" reasoning;
2006 Mega Cab 6. 25' Laramie CTD Dually w/power sunroof.
MSRP: $51,915
My 2005 QC 8' Laramie CTD Dually w/power sunroof.
MSRP: $48,495
==========================
The 06 has the bigger interior and that is probably a plus for some, but I don't consider it that important for my grandkids or the few friends that will have to rarely squeeze into my itty-bitty QC. The 06 has the 6'3" short box which to me seems to defeat some usefullness of the dually in load capacity, although the slider type fifth-wheel hitch could still be mounted I suppose. The tow rating is reduced from 15,900 (on my 05) to 13,500 on this configuration for the 06. Hmmm - is this because of the short-box / wheelbase? ... or has Dodge lowered the tow rating for liability reasons... ... ... legal (weasel) ivory-tower chaps perhaps.
Oh yea, like the previous gen Ford 150's, I don't think I'm gonna warm up to this front end and the interior changes don't do much for me either.
Anyway just some thoughts and of course just one man's opinion. Feel free to try to change my mind.
