Thinking of selling my 03 stick and getting an 06 auto and e-brake. Anybody out there towing heavy with this setup. Does the e-brake work as good as it does with the auto as it does with the stick. Legs giving out for the stick. Hate to give it up but will be going down to one vehicle in the future. Only tow once a year when we go to pikes peak region ,we may start going more since the other half retired.

I drove one yesturday without a trailer,it will pull you down very strong in 2nd!In any gear at about 2500 rpm it felt good.

I towed a 10k fiver around Colorado with a Pacbrake and a DTT auto for five years. The setup was perfect. I went from smelling the brakes down every pass to never having to touch them.

I have an '06 with an auto and the e-brake. I really like how well they have integrated it. I purposely hooked up a 15k lb load and towed it over Dallas divide near my home. Coming down the east side there is about a 5-6 mile run at 6% grade. With the e-brake on some braking is still required but normally I would have pulled it into second and had to use the brakes a lot. This way I was able to safely carry quite a bit more speed, in third with the brake on. If you are on a road that forces you to run 25-30 mph because of curves the e-brake on the auto isn't an ideal set-up. The brake doesn't work in first gear and disengages at about 25 mph. Since you are only at 1200-1400 rpm the braking force isn't much either. As long as you can run 30 mph or more the brake is very effective with the auto.

i have an 05 auto and tow a trailer every chance i get. I want to get an e-brake for it. Can i do so or is it a bad idea? I would like one that i can control myself and not have a computer choose when to do it like the banks one does. Any ideas.
