Recently started losing air pressure in the little tank for the exhaust brake. Noticed it would take a minute or two for the brake to come on while warming up.few. soaped the fittings and I think ever one is leaking. I replaced the two at compressor to solenoid valve but still have leaks. Is there a better connection than the plastic push in fittings? bg

BG, I really like the idea of the Push to Connect fittings but they occasionally have let me down too. I suspect the compression nut and ferrule probably makes a more secure fitting, but they are so dang difficult to work with in comparison. I've noticed that this Winter, with its' below average temperatures, my air compressor took some time to pressure up to activate the exhaust brake. Of course once it had a chance to warm up everything was fine. I am hoping that this was temperature related and not a sign my compressor is getting ready to give up the ghost. I have the BD exhaust brake and to do a compressor change-out under the wheel-well is considered a first-class aggravation by my wife, LOL. I think if the compressor takes a crap, I'm going to install a five-gallon tank and 100%-duty compressor and get those air horns I've always wanted, as well as have plenty of onboard air for the exhaust brake, and airing up the tires on my truck and camper.

Think you may be right on the cold weather, we had some teens a few days past. I did find a couple more leaks today. Still have a couple of the push ins that will make tiny bubbles. 80s here today, maybe they will seal off? bg

X2 on those fittings. Have had issues with the too. Pull on the hose as it should tighten the grip and seal better.

I NEVER use push in fittings. I prefer to use the old style. When I put the Pac on my 03 I went out and bought all new fittings and threw away the push in ones. To me they are like use quick connectors on electrical. Cheap and fast but will haunt you later. David

David, your comment concerning electrical connectors reminded me of the "Posi-Loc Connectors". They are absolutely the best I have ever found. My introduction to them was when several were included with the BD Exhaust Brake Kit. I have had difficulty finding them and consequently order them off Amazon. They are quick, extremely strong and nondestructive. Sorry for the tangent.
