I keep getting the P2563 code & a CEL. I run it down the freeway with OD off & then the code clears most of the time but within weeks it reappears. I haven't drove the truck for about a week & jumped in it today to get a cup of coffee & it was still showing the CEL like when I parked it last Sunday. I went & got coffee, returned home and parked and shut it off. I cycled the key & it showed "none".(no CEL either)
Now I have no code showing & its going to the dealer Monday AM. I assume the code will still be stored in the ECM? I'm getting tired of dealing with this code. From what I've read, the P2563 is the turbo dying. Any insight would be appreciated.
I should note, when I have the CEL, occasionally I get a flat spot on the pedal when I start to go from a stop light with NO POWER.... Almost like a flooded carburetor situation on a car with a gas carburetor?!?

Thanks,
Clay

The code will remain in memory until cleared. The light goes out if the condition is not present for I think 3 drive cycles. It does sound like a turbo issue, the lack of power is a sure sign. If it's not locked in it could be the variable vane is getting stuck. Do you always run with the exhaust brake? Keeping the exhaust brake on makes than variable vane move often and seems to help prevent it getting sooted up and sticking. Certainly worth trying if not done already.

Yes, always run with the brake on. What I was told by a mechanic was to run it down the freeway out of OD and then the carbon heats up & allows the VGT to operate correctly but the power loss dead pedal is really concerning pointing toward a failing turbo. I'm hoping they just replace the damn thing & not make me come back with the same issue in a week or two...

UPDATE:
Well now the dealer sold warranty is trying to deny the claim based on an after-market air cleaner installed. When I bought the truck the previous owner installed an Air Raid air cleaner. The adjuster said the dealership shouldn't have even sold the warranty but guess what, they did!
Not sure where this is headed next but either they'll honor the warranty or give me a full refund on the $2200 spent. SMFH, there's a reason people hate dealerships....Dishonest, low-life thiefs!
So, where's everyone buying the replacement turbos for these trucks? Best prices, warranty, things to check on as far as the rebuilds. Ie. do they replace the electronics on them? Should they? Are the electronics an issue? The dealer "NEW" replacement turbo is $4k. Industrial Injection has them for $2500. I've found them rebuilt for $1200. What say you?

Thanks,
Clay

Is the dealer price including installation?

These are pretty much the high end rebuilds including the factory replacement one. Pretty much all the same cost.

I haven't heard too many positive reviews on the less expensive rebuilds

The aftermarket airfilter would have no effect on that type failure, but being on here I am sure you have read about mods on the 6.7 and and aftermarket service contracts
