I ren the truck really low on fuel , since then it has been sputtering to take of , hesitates , puffs white smoke, dont know if its just coincidence or not... . I put my smarty on it and the scan said #4 misfire... . engine light came on the day after it all started and now is back off... ...

some oone told me to try n bleed the injectors, but i was told b4 that the common rail is a different bird than my old 12 valves when it comes to blleeding it.

SOOO if bleeding the lines is the cure , how do i do so?? if not what else could it be???

I need to be back on the rd tomorrow n i have no truck!!!!

Don't bleed the lines. The common rail runs 5-6000psi fuel pressure at an idle. It's designed to purge itself of air through the return lines before it starts. Have you changed the fuel filter lately? If you ran it out of diesel, you may have loosened some trash up in the bottom of your tank, and pulled it up into the fuel filter. That's where I'd start, and then I'd look at the injector. These trucks usually need injectors starting around 125-150k miles, in my experience. Some do better, some do worse. Is there any other codes? There is a cascade of possibilities on these trucks, including the cascade valve.

cycle the key three times and see what codes it has stored... they'll be displayed on the odometer after cycling the key...
