07 5.9 fuel filter question

did some maintenance today...



engine is stock and approaching 30K



switched to synthetics, changed oil filter, bypass filter, rotated tires, would have lubed front drive shaft but for the life of me i can't spot the zerk and i KNOW full well what to look for, etc etc..... and to the question... .



i do have the Geno's steel filter cap.



i changed the fuel filter for the second time using the fleetguard 7micron doodad... look simple enough but it is a mutha to get in straight. i'm pretty mechanically inclined but this is the second time i've changed that filter feeling like something is not right.



there is no leaking and the truck is running fine. should i be worried??



is the filter supposed to press all the way into the recess under the cap?



spinning it on it feels like its fighting the filter...



any help or reassurance is appreciated, jeff

never mind... .



i found my answer in a thread titled, "Problems with Geno's Billet Fuel Filter Cap" in case any one stumbles on my thread. looks like i'll be repacing it tomorrow again with a baldwin filter this time.
