Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
I have my 2007, 5. 9 G56 truck with 31,000 miles on it. I was parked in my carport and ran the engine RPM up to 2,000rpm. I hear a pronounced rattle that is only at 1950-2050rpm. I backed out my Smarty jr to stock thinking it could be timing noise. Same noise at stock. It is very audible when you listen at the front of the radiator with the hood up.
I put the truck up on ramps, idled it and pulled the plastic shroud away so I could see the front of the radiator clutch fan. No fluid leaks but the center hub has a slight wobble at idle. The fan doesn't seem to have any play in it. I have read here about these fans having failures.
Anyone heard the same noise??? Anything else to look for before i dreadingly have to take it to the dealer?
