Dad's mfg. plant just became the new owner of a used '07 with 6. 7L. It's a pretty basic truck, ST I think. It has a cubby hole where the exhaust brake switch is supposed to be. I think I remember it being an option when the 6. 7's first came out? What's involved in getting the feature added?

The Exhaust Brake was optional on the 6. 7L trucks made BEFORE 01/01/2007. After that it was standard equipment (but the base price of the truck went up). It is $300 to have the Exhaust Brake turned on and the switch installed.

The switch wires into the factory harness that's behind the dash and the dealer goes into the ECM program and turns it on... . Its a dredfull price..... If you looking at a truck on a dealer lot, have them throw that into the price...

All ISB6. 7 engines have a variable geometry turbocharger which is capable of performing the function of exhaust braking.

Worth every penny

If you ask me, this is one of the top features of this truck. Makes towing much safer and saves brake pads. I expect 150K out of my pads. And I love the looks I get when I pull up to a stoplight! :-laf
