First post. I have been reading and now I am going to support.

My clutch went out at 40,701 miles. My 94 has 171k and still going strong. Any ways. Which south bend should I go with? I am going to add a smarty jr and that's it. So I think a con ofe is over kill. Suggestions?

And I am wondering if should add the second gen 6th gear. My label is bearley not readable. I am pretty sure my g56 is an af. But in 6th at 65 I am doing I am doing 2250. So pretty sure I have the first gen g56. I think I saw some posts that mentioned they swapped 6th gear out.

From what I've read it's not just a swapping of 6th... it changes most gear ratios except 5th. I would like to have the newer model, but the fuel savings would be hard to justify unless my transmission went south and needed replaced. If you are stock or slightly more then a ConO is probably what you are looking for.

My '07 has the late (AE ratio) G56 and I am running 2,000rpm at 65mph with stock tires and wheels. WOT is right. You can't just swap in the 6th gear ratio. I would just go with a taller tire and correct the speedo with the Smarty jr.

I have the CON-OFE in my truck and it takes some getting used to. It doesn't have a lot of slip on take off. It is also a little stiffer pedal. If I was doing it over, I would go with their 3250 Street DD clutch.

thanks for the input. I am going with the Con OK. Doing some research and talking to Peter we think this will be the best for what I use and plan for the truck.

My truck is an 2006 3500,6spd manual. All Stock. My dual mass flywheel failed at 154,000. We tow anywhere from 4,000 to 16,000 lbs. Never had an issue until the flywheel started loosening up. I also researched the web, TDR, and other owners/mechanics. Finally gave South Bend Clutch a call... My decision was to completely replace with SBC kit. I now have about 750 miles on it, and enjoy immensely. No more vibration from flywheel! SBC is the only way to go; they build clutches for diesels!!

Which SB clutch did you install?

I know the question is for JSafrit,

but I went with the OK. The clutch feel is much better. I could not believe it so got in my dads 06 to compair. I like the SBC much better. Slightly stiffer pedal, which I like. I like the grab too.
