85 Yamaha FJ1100, anyone have experience with them?

Diesel Jeep Liberty bombs

I noticed our sheriff dept. has 3 new Chargers . Since Crown Vic has been the only v-8 rwd around here, its nice to see a change. I did not get a close up view(and don't want one). Does D/C offer a police package on the Charger? These are all different colors . None being white means they will likely be undercover units.

Numerous agencies are going to D?C vehicles; most of them have the v-6 motors in them. Utah Highway Patrol, Wyoming Highway Patrol, and Nevada Highway Patrol, and possibly others, have purchased Chargers with the 345-hp Hemi motors.

Virginia State Police are getting them also. Had one visit a gathering of Dodge Diesel Heads in New Kent last weekend. Tough looking car.

DC offers police package Chargers and Magnums. Both are available as V6 and V8 models and outperformed all other tested police package vehicles in the Michigan State Police tests this past year. The Hemi Powered Charger police package posted a top speed of 148mph, did 0 to 60 in around 6. 5 seconds and pulled a 14. 99 quarter mile time at 95. 68mph.

Check out the following link for all the info on the MSP results on 2007 police package vehicles:

Our Sheriff's office has used Intrepids for two years. So has the local City police department. They are junk. Pure and simple. They fall apart and cannot take the abuse. And the brakes overheat. One completely burnt to the ground while chasing a meth car. The brakes caught fire.

Hope the chargers are better!!!

Still don't think they'll beat the Ill HP corvette that I saw pulling cars over few years back... Though, one wonders where the put the people they arrest:confused:

The Chargers do look tough and I am a Dodge fan but I have a Crown Vic assigned to me and only time will tell if they'll hold up as good as the Crown Vic. I have yet to see another car go through as much abuse as these cars can and still be reliable.

There's a neat article in the new Motor Trend that compares 3 police intercepters. One of them is the V8 Charger. They also looked at the Crown Vic and the Impala, I think. I'm at work right now and don't have access to the article. They also have little blurbs on other cop cars as well (like a Lamborghini :-laf ).
