smarty imput

I got the Smarty for my 07 as soon as they came out from Bob Wagner, and I'm with the other guys... face stuck in smile mode.

It totally changes the way the truck drives. No more off the line lag, no more annoying rev delay when blipping the throttle on downshifts, easier city driving due to more low end power... Smoke on demand... and with the smarty on setting 5 (+90hp with timing,) I see a 2-3 mpg difference in city mileage and excellent highway mileage (55-60) (If i'm gentle, I can maintain a steady 18. 5mpg on the overhead, confirmed with hand calc. ) with about 800 lbs in the bed plus my toolbox and other junk.

The only small issue was the P0602 code which the newest software supposedly takes care of, but when switching back to stock SW, simply clearing the code with the smarty's built in code scanner took care of that.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this product except that it will make you start down the slippery slope of BOMBing your truck. ;)

One thing though, the smarty does not include any automatic high EGT backdown or other protection systems... So its up to your built in brain powered automatic system to choose a power setting that coincides with your truck's configuration and your driving style. EGT and Boost gauges are an ABSOLUTE MUST with this product, as EGTs can climb to dangerous levels very quickly if you're on the stock exhaust system (I've found it VERY easy to smack right into 1500 degrees plus pre-turbo if I'm not careful. ) ALSO, if you have an automatic truck, it would behoove you to have a trans temp gauge as well. In my mind though, these requirements are not an issue with a fine product, just common sense when pushing an engine past its factory configuration.
