On another note,
I just bought a 2010 6. 7 and before I even took delivery I bought a down pipe, delete section, and a fooler box. After reading about the issues there was no way I was going to own a truck with a DPF.
I am now having a change of hart. This truck is averaging 15. 3 mpg city and highway (on the display if I do the 65mph speed limit) and runs great. I have only noticed it regenerating 3 times, when I was doing about 80mph. Just a faint low pitch rumble like the exhaust brake is partially on, and the mpg's went from 14. 1 to about 9. It only stayed there for a 2-3 minutes, and then it returned right back to 14. 1. I am not saying it has not regen-ed since, just that I haven't noticed it a bit and I am always watching the mpg's.
I don't want to jump to conclusions but I have to give credit where it is due... Cummins may just have figured this thing out!
P. S.
I reserve the right to change my mind on this between now and the next 100k miles if this thing throws a single damn code!!
