I did a search that pulled up some old threads, but I can't tell if the 52113988AA is the heavy duty or the extra heavy duty front spring for the 07 trucks. I'm looking to upgrade springs when I do my Dynatrac conversion this fall and I want to put the extra heavy duty springs in along with some new Bilsteins. Does anyone that has either done this or an 07 owner with the XHD front springs that still have the tags on their front springs read the part number so I can order the right ones? Thanks Ken Irwin :D

I'm running Sean Lorenz's 23% H. D. front springs that will level your truck and provide a nice ride. Some posts I've read have indicated that unless you have an aftermarket bumper or winch that the Mopar H. D. 's yield a stiff ride. I've got a 2000# camper on mine and Sean's coils work pretty darn good. LORENZindustries - Dodge Performance Suspension You might contact him for more suggestions.

i have the 988 and bilstein 5100's on my 04. 5... . no more bottoming out and ride is still ok. there actually a bit shorter than the stock ones, but when ur done and you let it down on the ground it barely compresses :)

I finally looked at my factory springs and was able to get the part number tag off. If you are still interested the part number I have is 52121621AA. I Am seriously considering the 988 springs also.

I went to the parts dept. today and the 988 springs came on trucks with these two sales codes ZEM,ZTM. I should have mine at the house with sales code I have for my springs. It should be ZAM,ZNM.

I ordered them today

I ordered the 988s today. Thanks ccutrell, and everyone else that confirmed that the 988s are the super heavy duty 07 and later springs. Any one know why they are not standard on a 3500 Mega cab dually? Seems that is the heaviest front end Dodge is building besides the 4500 and 5500 truck. Just wondering:confused: Ken Irwin

I would have to say they dont for 2 reasons (WARNING OPINION)

Reason 1: The Birdy Factor = CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP.....

Reason 2: Seems as if 90% of owners want it to ride like a car or a chevy...

I peronally like it to ride like a truck and not bottom out on every bump I hit in the road, but that could be just me.

Kirwin if you have any questions on the install let me know. . I have done a good many..... especially if you want spacers with them. . thats a bit more tricky...

I just got my 988 springs in today. Does anybody have warnings or tips for me to tell my installer. He is experienced but he has never done this with these exact springs. Just levelling kits and lifts.

Using a custom valved shock is a better albeit priceier way to control bottoming with more comfort as well.

I did these 988 Mopar springs Yes they are stiff, also did the Bilstein shocks I likethe ferm ride but I found that the rear was a bit too soft in turns and when towing so I aded the Helwig stableizer bar from Summit performance. Now the truck rides very nice and flat. The springs should give you about 1" to 11/2" lift. You are going to have to reset your toe in after the springs are installed. Best thingto do is take a mesurement from inside the rim at the same hight on each rim then after you install the springs drive the truck around the block a few miles then rest the toe in... Unless you have already updated to the new steering draglink kit (the kit that some of the early ones are being recalled) if you have the new kit then the toe in adjustment will not change...
