What Do I Do ??

I have a brand new '08 3500 ram that I only get to drive once a week for about 60 miles. Every time I go out to start it I wait for the grid heaters to turn off and the truck takes a second or so to start. It sounds a little rough and the TPS (throttle positioning sensor, I guess) light keeps flashing (red lighting bolt) and the check engine light comes on#@$%!. I shut the truck off and then wait a few seconds then restart it. It then starts quick and fine, but the check eng light is still on. The check eng light will go off after a little while though.

My dealer replaced some module because the TPS sensor light stayed on within a week of buying the truck and when the TPS light is on the truck will barely get out of its own way.

Has anyone else had this problem?????????? or have any suggestions.

Thanks

Sorry, I can't help you, but I would certainly make sure to document every phone call and ensure you get a copy of each service ticket. You always hope it's just a glitch and will get worked out, but if not, you want the ammo to invoke the Lemon Law.

Hope you have a good dealer and it works out. Let is know.

Sometimes when I use the "Fast Idle", I get that light, but when I turn the engine off and restart, it has always gone away.

Ever since I have had my 6. 7L I have noticed it is harder to start than any other CTD I have seen started. It needs to turn over several times before it will start. Sometimes it doesn't start and I have to try again. I have a '79 IH Scout II I put fuel injection on that can sit for 2 years, which it has, then you just put a batt in it wait for the fuel lines to prime press the start switch and within 2 maybe 3 turns she purrs like a tiger.

I will let you guys know what the dealer has to say. I called them yesterday and they came by to pick it up to take it back to the dealership to see if they could find out what the problem is.

Sorry Everyone one for the TPS mistake. It was the "Electronic throttle control" light.

I got my truck back Friday and the service manager (and I hope I repeat this correctly) told me that they replaced what is called a "pop-off valve". Anyway they got it right though because it starts like a champ and no errors or problems for the last three days. :)

That is exactly what mine was doing. It would take 2 or three times before it would start and then when it did it would hit hard. The service manager even asked me that when he came to pick up my pickup if he could take it home that night just to get a sense of what the truck was doing. I told hime I wish he would. He did and found the same thing.
