ok guys, whats the "secret" to removing the various dash panels??... like knee bolster... bucket seat console assembly, exhaust brake panel... . etc... . i'm trying to install a switch for my aux. fuel tank/pump,and thus far i have been unable to find a way to pop off the various pieces... . my old '01 was very simple to disassemble in comparison..... which makes me think it's "right in front of my nose, but i just can't see the forest for the trees"!!!... any ideas would be appreciated... ... tom:)

most of the new mopar panels are "pull offs" they have snap tabs that you yank out. they are very hard to get out stright with out snaping the tabs. good luck with that!

Tom, to the best of memory, there's about 3 or 4 screws that secure the knee bolster to the bottom of the dash. I last had mine apart in June 2007 when I took delivery of my truck; I was installing my Prodigy brake controller.

Hopefully others will chime in on the rest... ... I'm curious also as I have the bucket seating in my truck also.

... thanks man... . i'm gonna spend some time possibly tomorrow checking out the panels... once again and look for screws, perhaps i'll get luck... . since i don't have leather on this truck,i would like to mount the switch where the seat heater switch would normally be... . but if not possible,i could live with it mounted on the side of the lower das or console... ... just have to keep looking i guess!!... ... ... tom;)

I'd love to have the pdf that shows an exploded view of all the dash panels from the cupholder up to the top dash panel. There has got to be something like this out there like the earlier models have available. Maybe it is a parts department thing, but it would be nice to have the total pic of the whole thing.

I'm reviving this thread b/c a friend just bought an 09 and he's wanting to do the same thing as Tom. He wants to install his switch just to the left of the fan control knob. We've taken the knee bolster off, but still can't get a good view of what's behind that panel in that area. We're a little wary of just drilling.

Thanks,

Ian

This is the best I can do. I can't get the PDF's small enough to attach so I just took a photo. If someone can tell me how to shrink the PDF I will load them up so you can print them.
