Some thing that may not have been brought up

Yet on this thread is the warranty issue.

The 6. 7 will show it has been modified, rendering

Your powertrain useless. Being that the 6. 7 turbo

Is not wastegated those trucks running programmers

That add enough fuel to make the good numbers

And used heavy weather towing or racing are at

Risk of blowing head gaskets- not a cheap repair

Something I've wondered...

Since the emissions crap on our trucks is to meet the 2010 standards, does it really matter if a pre-10 truck doesn't have it? Taking it off would be essentially the same as the 5. 9s.

The '07. 5 engine met the particulate standards required on that date, as did Ford and Chevy. The Cummins went on to meet 2010 NOX standards ahead of schedule, hence the EGR and the adsorber catalyst right under the turbo. From '04. 5 to 2010, NOX standards were gradually ramped down- hence the "600" engine with its retarded timing.

When 2010 came along, Ford and Chevy (and virtually every other manufacturer) chose to use DEF, which allows the engine to be tailored more for power and fuel economy. Unfortunately, RAM should have gone this way also as they do on the C&C trucks. Notice how poorly the Cummins performed on the reprinted test in the latest TDR- despite its axle ratio advantage.

Its on state away from the coast. By god im sorry Everything i say isnt upto your standards. If your here to run your mouth then get off my thread. I was lookin for opionons, not lecturs about laws and trash talkin from some campin hippie. Thanks though. Ill continue to talk to the people that want to talk about the TRUCK, which is what the thread is about

In your next post key in this phrase across the bottom of your post before you hit send:

"THIS IS MY POST AND I DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO DISAGREE WITH ME"

When a new poster posts a question about removing all the federally mandated emissions equipment which was installed because it is required by federal law and removal of which is punishable by federal and state law some of us feel that we have a responsibility to advise that it is a violation of federal and state law.

I doubt that anyone of us gives a hoot what you do with your truck. I assure you that I don't care, but I feel we have an obligation to point out the illegality of what you spoke of doing for others who read these posts. I don't want to be perceived by silent readers as someone who condones violation of federal law and I don't want invisible silent readers to assume wrongly that the TDR membership or management approves of it.

What you do is your choice.

Lmfao... ... . I don't think Harvey is or ever was a Hippy

Bob,

You're sure correct about that! I was a young sailor wearing dress blues and a white hat all the way through the '60s when those folks were smoking dope and hanging out in communes. I have never even smoked a single puff of marijuana or tried any of that other garbage.

HB is the only person here I've blocked. He rarely lends anything useful to a conversation and readily spits out anything that comes to his mind be it truthful or not. So take him for what little he's worth. He's also one of those guys that will post things here he would never have the guts to say in person.
Rant on, I couldn't care less (or see) what you say.

That's the beauty of America. Even the ignorant have an abolute right to their beliefs and to remain ignorant. You should be grateful.

 Come on... ... ... you gotta have have some love for HB you were one of the last 10 people to visit his profile

bigsilver67, HB is opinionated and will never see your side on this subject. Although it pains me to say, he is correct, but it is your choice what you do with your vehicle, just keep in mind you will be your own warranty station. Also you might want to consider the costs and fines. Here on the west coast in California, (I'll check the map just incase HB disputes that) we have draconian smog laws, if I were to delete it and it was found by the CHP, it would cost a lot more than just a fine. First it would be impounded then towed (on a flat bed) for the repair itself putting the crap back on, then a 4 hour day at DMV for temp tags, then back to DMV for inspection (another 4 hour day) then take the evidence of compliance and fines before a Judge another 4 hour day. In California there is a court fee if you have to see a Judge for moving violations and your found guilty or plea guilty. Now you can write the check out. It's just not worth the hassle and money.

BTW, I forgot to check with HB on the California process, you might want to give HB a retainer to see if that might happen in your state as well. :-laf:-laf

OK everyone, Its time for a 15 minute break. Now take a deep breath, and count to ten.

Feel better now???????????

thanks everybody(except hb) for the comments. hb, im pretty sure that i knew it was illegal before i posted this and before i did it. yes it is done and im loving every bit of it, incuding the added fuel mileage and throttle response. i am not convincing anyone else to do it, being said everyone here is grown and has a mind of their own. therefor do what you want, i did and im very happy with my decision.

bigsilver... ... .
With the disrespect towards HB, for just point out the true facts of the situation,
PLEASE Don't ask or post a thread when you encounter an issue or question or problem DUE TO YOUR Delte of parts of your truck... .

Due to the fact that you don't really care of the opinions given when asked, then complain; and then like a child explicitly single out HB.

If you want a textbook answer thats irrefutable, call your dodge dealer and follow their "ends all, of all repairs. "
