What's a Commerical Motor Vehicle - New Law

This guy should have bought a Cummins

Well on a trip to Disney during the Easter holiday I went to Lazydays in Florida and put a deposit on a new Class A 34' Fleetwood Expedition diesel pusher. Come to find out that the Fleetwood switched from the Cat C-6 to the ISB-XT (6. 7L CTD) for the 08' model year. I have been told it will a 350hp / 750tq. engine. This is my first Class A (moved up from a Class C E-450 Ford).

I sure hope this new 6. 7L CTD lives up to all the hipe.

Sounds good. . let us know what kind of mileage it gets and how it performs. .

Fleetwood is low on the qualiy list as far as the coach and everything goes. . check every little thing before you sign and drive. At least you won't have to worry about the drivetrain. .

Man, that does not sound very good. Low on quality? The fit and finish I saw looked good on the models I saw and test drove. I sure hope for 200k I am getting something half way good.

Well, if the 2008 is the same, I would have to remove the Expedition label off the front. My 2005 Cardinal had this big CARDINAL sign on the top back. We all voted on the first trip out that it had to come off. Out came the hair dryer and off came the CARDINAL sign. SNOKING

According to their web site, the 2007 34H had:

Engine Cat® C7 300HP

Torque 860 lb-ft @ 1440 RPM

Transmission Allison® 3000MH 6-Speed w/Electronic Shifter

The thing with fleetwood is they build fast. it may look good but history shows that they are basic and sometimes they come apart. they make the bounder and others and fleetwood always has to come to the dealer to be worked on... . who knows, maybe the one you buy will be good but I wouldn't buy a fleetwood... fleetwood is to RVs as Powerstroke is to diesels!...

If I was looking at a motorhome, I'd look at the Alfa's and some of the other ones like the Marquis by Monacco.

I like my 2007 Fleetwood Revolution LE 40E. I think you'll be happy with your purchase.

Fleetwood has taken huge steps forward in their quality in the last couple yrs.

Maybe they have improved if yours is doing good. . I guess certain lines or products do better but if I was going to spend 2-300,000 on a motorhome, I'd look at the Alfa or Monaco. . they have the bigger cummins engines.

Like I said, if you get the Fleetwood, check every little thing.

Glad to see at least one person likes there Fleetwood. I looked at what was avalivable at Lazydays in my price range and the size I wanted and this was the over all the best choice for me. I needed to by somthing that I could pay cash for. I would have loved to spend 300-400K, but did not want to finance somthing for the next 15 years or be backwards on from day one.

One thing is for sure, I am not giving up my check untill I go over the unit with a fine tooth comb.

Damn! you can pay cash for that??!!... give me some... lol... would love to pay my $40K 5th off in less than 10 years... lol. . I make about 75K/yr but only have 1 day off a week... still hard to pay for all my toys...

Pay cash, well yes and no. The list on the new Class A was about $190K with all the bells and bling. After trading in my class C (2005 31ft. Four Winds w/14k miles) that was paid for and the "discounting" of the new Class A it left me with a ballance of about $108k or so. Thats a long was from 200k.
