Looking at purchasing an '08 Megacab dually 4x4. Need a 6 seater and have come across a couple of trucks that are just what we are looking for, but unfortunately they have the dedicated center console between the 2 front seats (5 seater), rather than the 40/20/40 front jumpseat arrangement. Does anyone know with certainty, if the center console can be replaced with the center jumpseat (foldable seat/console) of the 40/20/40 configured front seats? I know I would also need to changed the front plastic part in front of the dedicated console to the smaller "cup holder" plastic piece that comes with the 40/20/40 jumpseat.
I've seen both these pieces relatively reasonably priced on ebay, but have no way of measuring bolt patterns between the 2 different seating types. The local Dodge parts department says that the bottom adjuster that the 2 styles of seats are bolted to, are the same part number. This leads me to believe that it should just be an un-bolt - re-bolt type of swap. I also don't know about the "swapability" of the 2 respective front plastic pieces - in front of the seat leading up to the dash - as I know there is probably ductwork/wiring, etc. for the megacab running through these pieces.
If anyone knows for sure about this swap, I'd appreciate your assistance! Thanks for your time!
