I have read where many people run with a 1/2" fuel line. I am just starting to embark on a BOMBing run that will take a while to finsh, and take me pretty high in the hp #'s. I would like to kinda start out slow, and go from there so I thought this would be a good (read cheap) place to start.

My questions are, what kind of kits are out there, and about how much do these kits run? How much time is involved in this projects? Would I need some new banjo bolts?

Any other thoughts?

overkill

cost , expensive ... gain , none that are really proven .

when you say hi hp , what are you talking , the factory lines and pickup easily support 500 plus flywheel HP .

if you are talking about 1/2 inch line , then banjo bolts are out of the equation you need to repalce the bolts with AN fittings and new braided , or non braided lines and the required hose ends , plus modify your stock fuel filter as it will not flow what the 1/2 inch line and new lift pump will supply ... all said and done , all the mods required to run the 1/2 inch line including a new pump and its associated hardware will set you back at least $750 and thats if you do the work yourself .

I ran the -8AN braided from the tank to the Mallory and forward from the Mallory for about 3 feet, then it downsizes to -6AN to the fuel filter. I also ran -6AN from the fuel filter to the VP44, using the Aeroquip elbows. I doubt there is much gained in performance with the larger line, as MM stated, the OEM filter will only flow so much.

The Mallory is visble from the drivers side of the truck and I just wanted to keep what is in view uniform, plus the -8AN line looks good :D

The braided line is pretty easy to work with and the hose ends are a piece of cake to install, just lube them up with some motor oil ( I used Rotella T) and they go together with no problem, if you go that route.

I believe that you would have good results with Ray T. 's modified banjos and the stock line as well, the biggest concern is to lose the restriction of the stock banjo's, IMHO.
