Scott (Psychotty) and I have been fooling around with ideas for the first gen. The problem with the holes in the air box is that the air being sucked in is HOT from going through the rad and from the engine bay. It could be 150°F - 200°F or more in there on a sunny day with little air movement or under full load.

My Pyro went up 150°F this summer at cruising speed. I got curious about the high temps and checked under the hood. The little pipe had fallen off between the filter and the grill.

If you could plumb in cool outside air in a big way, you would gain alot in power and lower temps. The Psychotty system uses pressurised air from the heater vent area. I haven't spent enough time to figure this out yet, but I could certainly use lower EGT's!!

I have heard the same thing about our airbox not being able to "breath" enough. I bet it wouldn't be hard to route another tube to somewhere in the front to allow more air. Maybe cut a hole in the hood = RAMair!! I Don't think it will help me being that my turbo is already sucking 35+ psi. Do ya think? I need to go down and pick up that 50 psi gauge I ordered... uh,... a long time ago!
