I posed a question earlier. Here goes.

7750lb truck 0-60 in 7 seconds =? hp?

I got no real answer. In theory that is what a dyno does. It measures how fast a drum of a given weight can be accelerated.

I just came back with 1/4 mile et of 13. 5 seconds with 7800lb truck.

With all of these numbers, can anyone arrive at an approximate HP figure?

This is fun!Oo.

That works out to 626 hp. Here are the formula's for calculating by ET and MPH:

The ET method

This method uses the weight of the car and the time it took that car to travel 1330 feet (¼ mile).

The formula is: hp = weight / (ET / 5. 825)^3

The Trap-speed method

This method uses the weight of the car and the speed at which the car completed the quarter-mile run.

The formula is: hp = weight * (speed / 234)^3
