Thanks for the reply. I wonder if mine with a 4:10 would be quicker? I haven't done any drag racing in many years but I just was curious about the times. When I was working at DCX I had the opportunity to drive a lot of hot performance vehicles and that was always a thrill.
I'm afraid to really drag race with my truck. I have an Edge Comp, DTT 91 % Auto, DD2's, Jardine 4 inch exhaust, + a K& N. The only TWO times I've power-braked at 1500 RPM, at 5 x5, 10 lbs boost, then floored it, my truck just burned rubber until I let off. One time I burned for at least 50 yards 'till I came up on the Fire Station, so I let the peddle up. I feel that I could have just burned 'indefinetley' had I not let off. Now, I just leave the Comp on 3x3. Saves rubber.
with such a limited rpm range on a diesel the 4. 10's are not an advantage for high horsepower trucks. if you dont have the hp then gear it low, if you have high hp then you can get away with higher gears. their is always a fine line. no real advatage 3. 73 to 4. 10's as far as i know but i have been wrong before. anyone?
