Looking for a 24volt charger

For those who do, do you really save a lot of money and is it worth it? I have a pretty good repoire with my vets (one for large animals, one for small). While I don't begrudge them if they make a little profit on meds, has anyone actually documented a big difference?

Another area I am curious about is pet insurance. For those who use it, what is your experiance?

Our Rott(en)weiler is on Rimadyl (sp?) daily and I checked one of them pet med online deals not long ago. The price was exactly what I am paying our vet except I was going to pay shipping on top. That's my only experience.

A friend carries health insurance on her horses. One went through collick surgery and the insurance payed for itself many times over and she swears by it now. I compared paying premiums I'd likely never see again to just sticking it in the bank and I decided against it. I think if I had an expensive horse I might it.

I kind of like the relationship with a good Vet, can be really helpful, and a good one gives help that is beyond pills/shots !!!!!

Just like you we do other sources for certain medicines, but for some things the Vet is the way to go. Good Vet's give advise for free for many reasons, including saving on their time!!

Pet insurance, to me, is only for animals that, would be a financial hardship if it was required, and possibly a business right off. None of the people I hang around with with horses/dogs etc. have it , though the range of people is from those who hate (will not!!) to spend any money for anything to those that would spend their last dime to help one of their animals!!!

Think it has to be a personal decision for each person!!!!!

slightly off-topic...

I wonder how many junkies call places like this and say that their pet needs some hefty pharmaceuticals... . when in reality they're getting wasted on them... ??!

I have heard horror stories of people intentionally trying to mislead medical professionals into writing them prescriptions for stuff they don't need.

Matt

I've been screwed at my Vet's many times on Meds. Once I was billed $125 for antibiotics which I later found out cost about $15. Another time I was charged $30 for 1 Oz. of Lactalose--when I went to PetCareRx they wanted $21 for 16 Oz.

I don't know that it's that easy. My vet worked with us for nearly two years that we kept a terminal horse alive with steroids. (She had an invasive tumor in her nasel system that two operations did not cure) Off the steroids she could not breath. Anyway, our vet wrote prescriptions for us to get the meds mail order because of the high costs. The company who supplied us was constantly checking things out.

Back to Petmeds. I was not considering using them just curious since I see their commercial on the Weather Channel all the time.
