10400 miles. three oil changes, 4 re-flashes, 9 trips to Dodge for the same surging problem with no fix in sight. Last trip they said there was a star notice to change the valve cover gasket as the injector wires were to close.

Still surges on start up and when steady speed at low throttle, what we used to call roll of position, I still think it is the EGR system, but tech says no.

If you are even considering a 6. 7 DON'T. If I had to do again and couldn't get a 5. 9 I would buy GMC, Ford, anything but this truck.

Saving up now to pay some lawyer to see if I can get a refund under the lemon law, probably just throwing good money after bad.

Save time (and maybe some money too) and just trade it for what you think is better. It's quick, and there are deals out there, but you will lose $$$$$$$$$ no matter what you do.

Alex Simanovsky lemoned mine I got a great deal. no atty. fees . . he collects from Chrysler. Got an 08 put on a straight pipe and an Edge programmer ... . never been happier.

Sorry to hear that--seems to be the luck of the draw with these trucks. I haven't had a single problem with my 2007. 5. 10,300 trouble free miles and 2 oil changes (just had the last one done and the first one I did early because he truck sat for a while).

Knock on wood... hope mine continues to be this reliable.

I have 2008 Dodge bought in Nov 2007. I now have 14,400 miles on the truck with only two visits to the dealer other then for three oil changes. One of my first visit was a cel for the turbo, I was running the truck in very cold weather -10 F and did not let the truck warm up enough. Than the last was for turbo cleaning which was done.

My son owns a shop that deals with diesel engine repair and mods of any type and everyone that deals with him, will tell you do not buy a FORD 6. 4L Diesel these are the worst engines ever.

So I think all engine manufactures our having issues meeting the new emission laws I know Cat is also. These emission laws are stretching the design envelope and they are struggling to meet them along with providing a reliably engine. Just my $0. 02

08 5500 with 50K miles... . we drive it like we stole it... . has a box and runs close to 19,500 lbs most of the time... . so much better than the F550 we sold... .

We do have a problem with the lights, and the FCM which they are still taking care of out of warranty... .

My cost per mile is much lower on the dodges than the fords we used to run... .

Design and technology will get better with the new emission items... . as they did on the cars... . its funny, but if you look back there are a lot of people who later had to re-install the emission devices on the cars at a very high expense... . I'm sure truck testing is around the corner, like it is in CA... . of course my trucks are all stock from that stand point... too many different drivers, and too many miles needed from a chassis to play much with them...

My 2008 cab and chassis has 37,500 miles on the odometer now, a mix of high speed highway, towing heavy, and slow around town driving. It has performed flawlessly so far. It is as quiet as a gas engine, pulls strong, and provides reasonable fuel economy. I love the Aisin six speed automatic also.

It showed a check engine light indicating a possible error in rail fuel pressure that stayed on for several days during a 3,000 mile trip but extinguished itself without any corrective action being taken.

I enthusiastically endorse the 6. 7 Cummins engines and recommend them to anyone.
