The stance of the truck looks Ok, but he could definetally fit some bigger meats under there.

That lift kit looks pretty crappy though. BIG spacers and the geometry of the control arms is really messed up, not to mention how weak those control arm mounts look.

Could somebody please explain to me what the point of mods like that are? Do the owners just crave weak (dangerous) braking and poor handling, worse than pick-ups are already? Now the truck is WAAAY too big to fit down a jeep trail and way to nice and shiny to run through a mud hole. What about that look makes people overlook the absolute absurdity of the function? Sorry if it offends people but, I just laugh when I see trucks like that, what a waste of money.

I agree with johndeereg.

That's the surest way I know to get noticed!

Also the surest way to never have a hard time finding your truck in a parking lot!

Drive throughs could get interesting though.

Gotta have a 10 foot garage door.

Let's wash the truck: lets see: 5 gal bucket, car wash soap, wash mitt, tire cleaner (2 bottles), wheel cleaner, and 8 foot step ladder.

The mother-in-law could never get in that thing.

Far, far too much lift for tires that small.

That's my biggest pet peeve when I go to a truck show - people with no sense of proportion when they lift their vehicle. :)

Has anyone heard how the quality of FULL THROTTLE SUSPENSIONS are? they have a 10 inch lift for our trucks i was just wondering how theres is compared to the lift we see here

thats pretty funny because a couple of years ago in fourwheeler magazine they said full throttle and whiplash were some of the best . i think it was the 40th anniversary issue. personally i like the quality of skyjacker

hmmm i wonder how much they paid four wheeler to say that  i really dont listen to magazines because of the fact that the companies pay for the mags to say there good bla bla bla... . if i owned a magazine company id do the same thing.

Remine's me of what my dad said back in the late 70's-----Y! I would'nt strecth my round deals to get up into that s. o. b. ( wording censored somewhat). :-laf

well i can tell you that the Whiplash suspensions are total CRAP... do not get anything from them, they are very weak and break a lot, they are designed for show only. Full Throttle i hear is definitely better than whiplash but they are far from the best.

lifts

SkyJacker does make some of the best, and I agree with everyone that the Full Throttle/Whiplash lifts are for show only (at least the really big ones). Much over 5-7" for a FUNCTIONAL kit and you're pretty much on your own. I do like the look however. :D

As far as the guy who "laughs when he sees those type of trucks" goes, it's no different than "needing" a BMW 750, a Porsche, and his Buick. To each his own.

Personally, I like being able to demonstrate what I'm capable of, and I like that no one else can just go buy one like I have - wanting to drive something different from the rest of the crowd seems to be something we all have in common... No matter what your interest, I'd be surprised if anyone here was able to hold back a grin if they saw a 7000 truck go into warp speed from a stop with a puff of black smoke...

BTW - Mine goes to shows, climbs the sand dunes at Silver Lake State park, and has been up to the doors in the sticky black stuff...

Well said bluthndr :D! I'm a firm believer "whatever makes you happy" and "to each his/her own". If everyone liked the same things, life would be boring. I personally wouldn't like to drive a truck that size, but they (trucks that big) sure look cool. However, I am definitely planning on installing a 4. 5" lift and 35 BFGs soon. I've been a dedicated subscriber to all the major 4x4 magazines since I was 16 (now 29) and still anxiously await the arrival of each month's issue.

BTW... . did you ever switch to the Ram 2500/Cummins Turbo Diesel door badges, or do you just like to mess with people's minds as you drive by them????:D :D .

Got a question??

Do any of you crackn' on the lift vs tire proportion of that truck ever drive of the pavement??

Does anybody run chains??

They need more clearance and if you don't have it they make it.

With the lift and rubber on that truck all you have to do is bind up the suspension on some rocks, turn the wheels and you will have a tire rubbin' on the wheel well. Those tires are perfect for that truck. The wheels match well also.

I hate when people put too wide a wheel with a given tire.

IE 12fifties on a 10" rim. Makes it look like a person should have gone with gold rims and more boom boom in the stereo:D :D :D

My experience in building off road four and five link suspensions tells me that the geometry of those links is about right.

Does the chrome make the links stronger??

The guy at the chrome shop said it does;) ;)

I say whatever floats your boat and that truck floats my ark with lots of free board.

Thank god for short skirts and tall trucks:D :D

I'll second that. Hardly any of us leave our trucks *off the shelf* original. We crave individuality. Otherwise we'd all be Amish!;)
