A friend of mine got his a couple of days ago.

Holy smoking dualies Batman! this thing rocks!

The remote control is really cool. It is about 1 inch x 1 1/2 inches by less than half an inch thick. It has a digital readout for the power level and up and down arrow buttons for changing the level.

He has the red label version which goes well beyond the PowerMax 3 levels. You have to sign a waiver for it. It is set up with level 5 being the same as a powermax 3 and the sky is the limit from there. The, otherwise stock, 2001 3500 6-speed 4x4 it is installed in will slip the clutch a little at level 4 and is easy to slip on level 5. Above that, forget it. Waiting for that new 6 speed heavy duty vaporware clutch! EGT's are through the roof so the muffler is coming out.

The power comes on quicker than the original PowerMax that I have. This thing leaves my truck in the dust and it aint not slacker. I can get 0-60 in 8. 6 seconds. We havn't timed his truck yet but it is definetely faster.

I spoke to Mark C. this morning about ordering the new 10-level PowerMax box. The remote with readout sounds very cool! I asked him specific questions about the differences between the standard and "off-road" versions. In a nutshell, the pulse-widths to the injection solenoids are programmed wider on the off-road verstion from level 6 thru 9. Mark said that he has been able to achieve a 93% pulse-width enhancement with the "off-road" version. He did go on to mention that EGT's would be way too high in the "off-road" version, and only usable for a very short time. That seems like overkill to me, so why get a box with 10 levels and only be able to use 5. With the standard version, the increments between each level will be smaller, and much more usable in everyday driving, including towing. The standard version at the top level is the same as the PowerMax 3, which is still the highest output on the market. So, mine is on order(standard version) and should be in my hands on Friday.

You get the 10 level so when you pull up to the stop light next to a ferd you put it on 10 and wave "bye bye" then of course you put it back to level 5, 3 sec later.

Wow!!! That box sounds Super Cool. And from the way it sounds, you could put this box on level 1 and wave "bye bye" to any Phord PowerJoke that wants to play. Level 10 is reserved for HVAC...

Hmmmm. Just think about this for a moment. This new TST adjustable box "Off Road Edition", DD Stage 3's, HX-40 Turbo,Psychotty Air Intake System, and 5" Exhaust.

Hypothetical question: If a person had a Powermax2 and wanted to trade up for the new "dial in G force" model Powermax3, what does it cost? Does Mark give current owners of an earlier model box a good deal to trade up?

Yes, Mark will take trade-ins on used PowerMax boxes. You have to call them and they will tell you how much yours is worth in a trade. It all depends on how old it is and what model it is. But I am not sure if that is only with PowerMax boxes that were purchased directly from TST or not. Can't hurt to call. Extremely helpful people there at TST Products.

I wonder how the offroad model would work with a 14 or 16 cm housing to keep the EGT's down. I also understand that the PM3 is CARB certifide (sp) A major PLUS!!

I originally wanted Banks to up grade my Otto-Mind,But,only after waiting almost all of "99 for them to release there kit, my reward was," Ohohohohoh you got our first design, sorry, but we can sell you... ... ... "Ya right! I got the "off- road" version with level 9 @ 72%. ( when the race car is broken, I've been known to take the Dually down the 1320)My "box" seemed to go flat after launch, Mark said it starts cutting fuel back around 2500 rpm. I've had Mark set my new box at 3000 rpm cutback. He also said fueling didn't start with mine until 2 psi boost, new one starts at . 2 psi. I really like the idea of the remote. I'll take my truck to a dyno too compare the boxes, also, Mark assured me that in 10 months if I wanted the latest version of the "box", no problem... . (HEY, BANKS, THATS CALLED C-U-S-T-O-M-E-R S-E-R-V-I-C-E)

Ordered my 10 Level PowerMax today. I opted for the "off-road" non-CARB certified version. I'll use it for racing only! LOL!!! Now I have about 10 days to get my new clutch installed! #ad
! As many of the above posts have stated, the customer service at TST is second to none.

I saw this in an ad in the new register.
how do you guys like it so far and how do you think it would work with DDIIM's

Thanks
Jim

I have had the 10 level Powermax for about 1 week. It is the "Competition" version. Honestly, I can't use anything above level 3 with my DD Stage II's without my clutch slipping like butter. I have a new Luk ProGold on my shop floor, just haven't put it in.
I really like the adjustability, and like the power at level 1 or 2 for daily driving. Because of my clutch, I really can't tell you anything about the higher settings, except that the throttle is so touchy, drivability is not good. I expect that for practical purposes, anything above level 6 is "race-only". Also, EGTs will be a serious problem. Mark Chappel at TST told me this, but since I have the Bombing addiction, I wouldn't listen. At level 6, my Boost hits 40, then my clutch lets go, and boost drops..... I can't even think what the higher levels are like.

You pay the price for bombing. I'm afraid the Luk won't hold up to anything past level 6. I'll keep the board posted.

I've had mine a couple weeks now. Have pulled trailer twice, once in level 4 and 5. In both had no problem with EGTs, I did however peg my 40# boost gauge in 5. I had it in level 9 once, puffed smoke(I expected more), The duals finally stopped spinning, about 15 seconds later I did see the EGTs hit 1400. Besides the rest of the Bank's kit, I've got the 275 injectors and DTT's TC+VB. Day after Turkey day, I've got an appointment with a Dyno, I suspect I'll see some high EGTs that day.

Is your 10 level the "Off-road Competition" version? I had to sign a waiver before they would ship mine. As I understand it, the difference is that the competition version takes the highest "non-competition" fueling level, which is equivalent to the Powermax 3, and sets it at level 5. Levels 6 and up are not available in other versions and increase fueling incrementally beyond the Powermax 3 level. As I have said, these higher settings are not very practical nor driveable.

I am also running DD Stage II injectors, which smoke quite a bit without using any fueling box.

Hello Ross, Yes I had to sign the waiver as you did. With my current setup, Levels 8 and 9 are "competition". I had Mark set my max pulse band width @ 72%, Level 9. He has achieved 93%, But like you, I feel thats allmost un-useable. (honestly I'd like to try it!). I think that Mark mentioned that even at level 6,If I had stock injectors,I'd be emissions legal, not sure though. I wish I could program or set the transmission to shift all gears @ 3000rpm (including lock up),mighty stout. I think,(rather felt),transmission was almost being asked to do to much in level 9!!!!(DAH RIGHT?)I sure do Love my truck. Wow,this is an addiction!!!!!
